Saif Ali Khan

(born 16 August , 1970 in New Delhi, India ) is an Indian film star working in Bollywood .

Biography

Khan's parents are Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore and cricket player Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi , who is the Nawab of Pataudi , making Khan a (a ). He is the great-great grandson of Rabindranath Tagore and is related to the late Nafisa Joseph from his mother's side.

He was educated at the Winchester College in England. Khan has two sisters, Soha Ali Khan who has also entered acting with the 2004 release, , and Saba Ali Khan who designs jewellery. He married actress Amrita Singh in October 1991 , but they separated in 2004 . He has two children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan who are living with their mother.

Film Career

Khan has been acting in films since 1993 ; his most important role was probably in the 1994 with Kajol and Akshay Kumar . However, his acting career went through a relative slump until 2001, when he was cast as Sameer in Farhan Akhtar 's hit film, . This firmly established him as one of the industry's most bankable stars, and he followed it with memorable performances as a comic eligible bachelor in , a manipulative gangster in , and a light-hearted cartoonist in Hum Tum . For his role in opposite Rani Mukherji he received the Filmfare Best Comedian Award . He then won a National Film Award for Best Actor for the same film.

This was followed by a critically acclaimed performance in and , both of which were hits in India and overseas. He joined Shah Rukh Khan and a group of other stars ( Rani Mukherji , Preity Zinta , Arjun Rampal and Priyanka Chopra ) in the highly successful "Temptations 2004" world tour.
